One of the movies with the biggest presence this year at Comicon was Frankenweenie, the new movie by Tim Burton. Burton’s returning to stop motion with this flick and it looks amazing. No need for much of a synopsis as you’ve no doubt seen the trailers (but I’ll post one below for your reference)
The story of “a boy and his dog, dog dies, boy brings back dog” soon turns into a massive homage to classic monster movies. Frankenstein, Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and even Gamera are all here for your enjoyment. Below you’ll find some photos I took during the press conference as well as footage of the press conference itself via BehindTheThrills.com .
I’ve also included a few shots of the actual props/puppets/and set pieces that were on display at the “Art of Frankenweenie” booth that we got to view at the booth for the film. Its the first time ever a stop motion full length feature has been done in complete black and white. And it looks to be one of the most amazing stop motion movies ever done in terms of details on the props. As usual, if you use a photo please credit Fangirl Magazine.
