I have never been what you would call a “girly girl.”  I had Transformers.  I had GI Joe’s.  I had every single Voltron Lion and the Castle to go with it.  Anyway, I get excited over things going boom and giant robots and monsters beating the living hell out of one another.

This is why I know Guillermo Del Toro and I are somehow related, if not by blood but by some celestial chord of communion because he made PACIFIC RIM.  The new trailer that was shown at WonderCon and CinemaCon has now been released online.  And oh…oh…my.  I can’t really describe the sound that came from my throat when I watched this.  I think it may have been on the level that only dogs could hear.  But either way…we’re getting ready for what may be the best damn summer movie season in YEARS.  That’s all I’m saying.

There are few men who can improve by both aging and losing their hair.  One of them is Sir Sean Connery.  The other is Bruce MF’ing Willis.

This February the latest in the Die Hard franchise comes out.  A Good Day To Die Hard looks like my sort of flick, with Willis being a snarky grinning smart ass who’s blowing shit up and looking sexy and FILF’y doing it.

So then this was announced…a marathon the day before of all the Die Hard movies in order, ending with the new one.  I’m sorry guys, but this is the sort of marathon date that I would be all about.  Yes please…

Word is still coming down about which theaters etc.  But most likely the details will be out soon.

We also have yet another not nearly revealing enough synopsis where we keep having that “John Harrison” name mentioned even though no one has ever heard of John Harrison before.  And man is that a boring name.

…with Earth under terrorist attack from Benedict Cumberbatch’s ex-Starfleet employee John Harrison, Kirk (Chris Pine) is this time forced into a rash decision that breaks a critical Starfleet command, puts his crew in danger & costs him his captain’s chair. Now out of uniform and dressed down in space civvies of black leather jackets and boots, our three heroes have separated from the Enterprise and headed off on a mission to try and rectify his mistake…

Meanwhile can we get a lifesize poster of that shot up there please?

The epic that is Pacific Rim is not released until next year….but the viral videos have started making the rounds online talking about the movies giant Kaiju creatures the pilots in the film will be facing. I love the fake newsfootage and I cannot wait to see this movie:

I saw Skyfall this weekend.  It was probably one of the best Bond flicks I’ve seen in a while.  Yes, it may have trumped Casino Royal.  A review will be forthcoming.

In any event, with the 50th Anniversary of Bond happening we now have a mega cut of 22 Bond Films that show how the films have led stylistically over the years.  It’s pretty phenomenal and I don’t even want to think about the time put into this nearly 2 hour movie.  But here it is and it deserves some attention.
