Visual Effects luminary Robert Legato (Hugo, Avatar, Titanic) directs “Reawakening,” a modern-day retelling of Frankenstein, in Anthony E. Zuiker Presents series premiere on May 26th

LOS ANGELES (May 25, 2012) – CSI: creator and visionary storyteller Anthony E. Zuiker’s latest digital project, Anthony E. Zuiker Presents, is set to premiere on Saturday, May 26, 2012 on BlackBoxTV, Zuiker’s new horror, thriller and sci-fi premium YouTube channel in collaboration with his company Dare to Pass Digital, director Tony E. Valenzuela and Collective Digital Studio.  Robert Legato, Academy Award-winning VFX Supervisor for Hugo and The Titanic, directs the first of the series titled, “Reawakening” a modern-day retelling of Frankenstein that follows a police officer’s descent into merciless evil as he gets an unusual opportunity for vengeance. “Reawakening” stars Travis Fimmel (The Beast), Rick Overton (The Informant), Dylan Bruno (Numb3ers), Brian Finney (Reno 911) and Tiffany Brouwer (The Help) and was written by Adam Simon (Haunting in Connecticut) and Executive Produced by Anthony E. Zuiker, Tony Valenzuela and Matthew Weinberg.

Anthony E. Zuiker Presents is the new signature anthology series from Zuiker for BlackBoxTV, featuring 10-15 minute stand-alone thriller, horror or sci-fi-themed shorts. The series is already attracting notable talent, and in addition to “Reawakening,” production was completed on another episode, “Execution Style.”  In the story of three relentless hit men hired to kill the same person, “Execution Style” stars Goran Visnjic (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Renee Auberjonois (Boston Legal, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Nicki Aycox (TNT’s Dark Blue) and comedian Bill Bellamy. It was directed by Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone) and written by Duane Swierczynski (Level 26).

“I grew up watching and being inspired by great storytellers like Alfred Hitchcock, so when we partnered with YouTube for BlackBoxTV, I knew this was the perfect format for an anthology series,” said Zuiker. “We are so lucky to have Rob Legato behind the premiere episode, “Reawakening”.  He’s masterfully directed a story thatblurs the lines between imagination and veracity that is visually stunning and will have people on the edge of their seats.”

In early 2012, YouTube began rolling out its new offering of premium channels of which BlackBoxTV is one.  Well-known personalities and content producers from TV, film, music, news, and sports, as well as some of the most innovative new media companies in the world and some of YouTube’s own existing partners, will launch new, advertising-supported channels for YouTube’s worldwide audience.
