Don’t be afraid to Bat Bigger Darling – Tom Hardy Batman 3

MTV is reporting that Tom Hardy has been cast in Chris Nolan’s next entry in the Batman universe.

Now there’s no word yet on if in fact he’s going to be The Riddler or another baddie or even if he is a villain (I’m guessing yes, bad guy.)

But damn it, I want this to happen.  So hopefully he’ll be someone else, perhaps a very tall and leaner version of the Penguin.

Nolan, see below…you know it only makes sense:

Back to Some kind of wonderful

Wow, I had absolutely no idea about this. But yet, here it is.

Thanks to Filmdrunk  we now can see Eric Stoltz (he of the mighty ginger) was the original Marty McFly in Back To the Future.

The Blu Ray promises to have this on it.  But wow who knew?

Alternate Beg and End Nightmare on Elm St.

Since many don’t have a blu ray player and that’s the only way to see these scenes, some nice person on YouTube! uploaded the alternative begin and end for the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

I personally LOVE the alternative ending. Not only do we get some nummy JEH as Freddy out of make up time, but we get a lot more of Nancy wailing on him and its just a lot more personal. I like it far better than the chopping off the glove bit they did use. I only wish they’d given us the cut scenes that we know were filmed and we get only behind the scenes glimpses of during the making of segments. Watch it now while its still up and discuss below.

The Dude does The Duke

Thanks to Filmdrunk and Ropeofsilicon we’ve got the trailer to True Grit.

Jeff Bridges takes on the role that The Duke, John Wayne, made famous years ago.

This looks AWESOME.

Wilde about Sherlock? So are we

Badassery personified.

Thanks to Filmdrunk  we get the news that Stephen Fry will be playing Sherlock Holmes (possibly) smarter brother Mycroft in the next Robert Downey Jr. starring sequel.

Stephen Fry:  “I’m playing Mycroft in the sequel to the Sherlock Holmes film Guy Ritchie directed with Robert Downey Jr., and that sort of part is fun, but just once in a while to play a genuine all round sort of lead figure with complexity and tragedy and wit and all the sort of things that Oscar [Wilde] had was a once-in-a-lifeftime thrill.”

This is perfect casting in my opinion.  Snarky smartass, meet more even tempered snarky smartass.  Also, Sherlock your brother already knocked boots with your boyfriend:

Now who will be Prof. M?    Thoughts?

Hit Girl Likes Cats.

Chloe Moretz is making the rounds of the genre world in Hollywood.  After taking over comic book movies as the awesomely foul mouthed Hit Girl in Kickass, she moved on to horror with Let Me In which is releasing this week.

Now she’s going gothy.  Chloe is the first to be cast in the new live action Emily The Strange feature film being produced by Dark Horse.

I’m good with this call because she’s got the snark in her neccesary to make Emily come to life.

It’s Giveaway Time!!! Remake Blu Rays!

We’ve got Blu Rays to give away!  You want them, you have to play the game baby.

First:  We’ve got the Ryan Reynolds starring Amityville Horror.  The disc comes with a ton of extras plus the standard DVD.

Second:  We’ve got the Donald Sutherland starring Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  This also comes with goodies and a standard DVD of the film.

So what’s the contest?  Since both of these films are remakes my question to you is this:  If you could remake any film, which one would it be?  Give your reason and who you’d cast if you’d like.   The top two answers win.  Deadline is 9/22.

Tourist Trailer = Johnny in his PJ’s

Angie for the guys and Johnny and Paul for the girls.  The Tourist which gets released as a Christmas gift for Jessica has a trailer.  And here it is.

Freaky Manson is Freaky..surprise!

According to the Daily Mail in the UK,  Manson’s Lewis Carrol movie has been put on hold by the stuido due to this teaser.

Surprise! Marilyn Manson made something creepy and disturbing.  WTF, its Marilyn Manson!  What did you think he was going to make?

In any event, here is the trailer which is NSFW and has plenty of freaky and disturbing images within it.  I personally think it looks exactly what I’d expect Manson to do with the Alice in Wonderland story as well as the man who created it.

And yes, I’d watch it.  Because I’m a sick woman.  But that’s not really surprising either.

RIP Kevin McCarthy

There’s already been many a well written eulogy for this man.   He lived a long and great life and gave us a lot of great characters and iconic scenes that will be around LONG after we’re all gone and followed him into the great beyond.

One of those great scenes is the ending of Invasion of the Body Snatchers which is probably what he’ll forever be known for.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers Ending

The other that I will forever love is UHF, where he played one of the nastiest, most evil TV men around…RJ Fletcher.

He could be a hero or a bad guy. He was awesome and one of a breed of character actor rarely seen anymore.

Thank you sir, and RIP.
