Ridley Scott and the Alien series – Guest: Nathan Hanneman

If you like me have a massive urgent desire to see Prometheus when it hits screens June 8th then this story will interest you.

Sir Ridley has announced per Indiewire that he’s going to be tackling a sequel to Bladerunner in the (near) future.

Hampton Fancher, who wrote the original draft of “Blade Runner,” was recently hired to develop the story for the project and it appears that he and Scott have agreed that it should be a sequel (not a prequel, not something else). Scott confirmed that news himself in a very recent interview with the Independent. And while a screenplay might not be written yet, it sounds like Fancher and Scott have a pretty good idea of the story they want to explore. Or at the very least, Scott says he’d like original star Harrison Ford to appear in the film, but he won’t be featured prominently. ”I don’t think it’ll be Harrison [starring]. But I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing,” Scott said. 

They also state in the article that we will be getting a Tarantino Django Unchained trailer on the front of the scifi epic too.  I hope that goes for the IMAX 3D screenings cause that’s where my crazy midnight screening butt is going to be sitting in front of next month.

What I am now playfully calling The Avengers killer (but most likely not as its rated R now…officially) Prometheus is still looking to be one of the most amazing movies of a year filled with awesome films.

Watch this short look into the plot of the film and tell me it doesn’t intrigue the hell out of you.

Why yes that’s a very descriptive headline…and yet a very worthy one.

Below is the 3 MINUTE LONG international trailer for Prometheus which promises to be The Avenger killer of the summer (it’ll be interesting to see who wins in the battle royal of this, Dark Knight Rises, and The Avengers.) I think this puppy is going to surprise a LOT of people.

Okay that headline is slightly deceptive.

Prometheus continues to make all of us sci-fi geeks drool as it releases more viral videos, this time showcasing Michael Fassbender as David-8…the android line from Weyland Industries, one of which is part of the crew of the Prometheus.

The video shows the creepy flat out amazing performance we get to look forward to as Fassbender manages to seem fake and yet..not.  The “emotional” David cries on cue when asked what makes him sad and states he can do things that his human counterparts might find “unethical.”  This might be a bit of foreshadowing on the part of Scott and company.
